Galen Berry's Marbling Workshop - September (back by popular demand)

Join us for an immersive experience in marbling at Galen Berry's workshop! Over two engaging days, you will learn the art of marbling on paper and fabric.

Day 1: Start with the basics, where Galen will introduce you to traditional marbled papers and demonstrate the full marbling process. You'll get hands-on experience learning how to apply alum, mix carrageenan, and prepare paints to create stunning patterns such as:

• Feather
• French curl
• Peacock
• Stone marble
• Italian vein
• Flowers
• Nonpareil
• Spanish wave

With individual small trays, each participant will marble between 10 to 15 papers to take home!

Day 2: Dive deeper into the craft with advanced techniques! Explore more complex patterns including:

• Thistle
• Moiré
• Fantasy wave
• Antique spot
• Ripple

Experiment with Overmarbling and Masking, and try marbling on cotton fabric! Each student will also have the chance to create a large 19" x 25" sheet of marbled paper. There’s time for personal experimentation as well!

Everything necessary for the class is provided except for pen and paper for notes, and a lunch if you wish to bring one. A small materials fee will apply. After class, supplies will be available for purchase, allowing you to continue your marbling journey at home!
