Join fellow pollinator enthusiasts for this exciting annual event hosted across six Southeastern states! ๐Ÿš€ All are welcome, including school groups, gardeners, families, and individuals who want to contribute to this vital project!

Each census participant will select a plant in the nature preserve to observe for 15 minutes, counting the number of pollinators that visit. ๐ŸŒป Don't worry about your identification skillsโ€”pollinators will be categorized into the following groups:

  • Bumble bees ๐Ÿ
  • Carpenter bees ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ
  • Honey bees ๐Ÿฏ
  • Small bees ๐Ÿ
  • Wasps ๐Ÿ
  • Flies ๐ŸฆŸ
  • Butterflies/Moths ๐Ÿฆ‹
  • Other Insects ๐Ÿœ

An insect identification and counting guide will be provided to assist with your census efforts. Count sheets will also be available, and the Pinellas Chapter will relay the data collected to the University of Georgia, which sponsors this event. ๐Ÿ“Š Results will be shared on the Chapter's Facebook page and in our monthly e-newsletter.
