Guest Lecture, The Cherokee-American War: The Struggle for Sovereignty

Join archaeologist and historian Dane Roberts for an insightful lecture on the Cherokee-American War! 🎓 Discover how this significant conflict marked one of the longest-standing struggles between Indigenous peoples and European colonizers, now known as American citizens after expelling the British during the American Revolution.

This presentation will explore the battles and legislation of the era, highlighting their impact on future relations between the Cherokee Nation and the American government, as well as the emergence of the Cherokee's Golden Age.

🗓️ This lecture is part of Vann House Day, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring over a dozen demonstrations and activities. The lecture will take place in our Visitor Center theater.
