Welcome to the Inwood Canoe Club's Open House!

Join us for an exciting summer of free guided kayak trips on the Hudson River, just north of the iconic George Washington Bridge! 🏞️

What to Expect:

  • Enjoy 20-minute guided kayak trips every Sunday from Memorial Day to Labor Day (May 25 – August 31, 2025).
  • Don't miss our special Open House on Saturday, July 12, for City of Water Day!

How it Works:

  • Arrive at 9 a.m. to sign up in person for three guided “waves” on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Ensure you return to the boathouse on time or risk forfeiting your spot!
  • Paddle solo or join a friend in a tandem kayak; no previous experience necessary!

Wave Times:

  • Wave 1: Arrive at 9:45 a.m., launch at 10 a.m.
  • Wave 2: Arrive at 10:30 a.m., launch at 10:45 a.m.
  • Wave 3: Arrive at 11:15 a.m., launch at 11:30 a.m.

Kayaking Adventures Await You!

  • Choose from our sit-on-top kayaks or paddle in a tandem kayak.
  • Experience canoeing in our unique “canoemaran” with space for up to six guests plus two ICC “Turtles” (members)!

Important Details:

  • All participants must be able to swim and be at least 8 years old. Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • We provide the boat, paddle, and personal flotation devices (PFDs) for your safety.
  • Dress in clothes and shoes that can get wet.
  • Leave valuables at the boathouse or bring a waterproof bag; ICC is not responsible for lost property.
  • No pets are allowed at the Open House.

Since our inception in 2002, we've proudly hosted the only walk-up kayaking program in Northern Manhattan, serving over 1,000 guests each summer. Come and join the fun!
