Originally emerging from the city's 1980s post-punk movement, he has evolved into a respected "troubadour" known for blending the rebellious energy of punk with the storytelling of folk and Americana.Lorraine Leckie is a Singer-songwriter and poet who was born on a horse in Northern Ontarioand raised on Neil Young’s music. In the ’70s, she embraced punk, married Steve Leckie of theViletones and became a makeup artist. Leckie worked in the fashion industry and withcelebrities such as Paul McCartney and Heidi Klum. After a decade in Europe, she settled in NewYork. At 37, she picked up a guitar and began performing at venues like Bowery Ballroom andMercury Lounge. She’s often joined by her band: Hugh Pool, Pavel Cingl, Keith Robinson,Charles DeChants and Zoe Friedman. Lorraine currently lives in Greenpoint Brooklyn with herhusband, Billy Leroy and a diabolical Irish terrier called Broghan.
