Kapi'olani Park Walking Tour
HISTORICAL WALKING TOUR
Join us for an enlightening 3-hour walking tour around Kapʻiolani Park, one of Hawaiʻi's pioneering public parks! While it sounds like a long trek, don’t worry — we cover less than 1 mile during the tour.
What to Expect:
- 4-5 Stops: We’ll pause at 4 to 5 shaded spots with picnic tables or grass to sit down and soak in the history, spending 20-30 minutes at each.
- Rich History: From the time of "ancient Hawaiʻi" and the reign of King Kamehameha I to the establishment and eventual overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom, discover stories often not taught in schools.
- Visuals Included: Each stop will feature pictures and media to draw contrasts between "Now and Then," helping you truly immerse yourself in Hawaii's rich past.
By the end of the tour, you'll walk away with a deeper understanding of Hawaiʻi’s history, its successes, and its challenges. Share these stories with family and friends back home!
