Info sull'evento

Gothic chapel of St. The cross (often called the Swedish cross) is one of the three national cultural monuments of Opava. The chapel dates from the end of the 14th century and we associate its creation with the rule of Přemyslovc Přemek Opavský of Opava. The chapel in the interior is decorated with a unique wall cycle of the apocalypse with 15 signs of the end of the world (but not only). The chapel is built on an octagonal plan and at the time of its creation was covered by a unique star-shaped vault, which unfortunately did not survive due to further reconstructions. The tour will offer information about the original form of the chapel as well as subsequent reconstructions and restoration efforts.
