Kyotographie exhibition spotlight gallery talks

🌸 Join us for an insightful series of spotlight talks presented by the Japan House London team, as we delve deeper into selected works from the Kyotographie: Kawada Kikuji x Iwane Ai exhibition. Each session kicks off with a brief introduction in front of the Gallery, followed by a detailed exploration of a specific artwork within the Gallery space.

🖼️ Each talk focuses on a single piece or series, allowing attendees to slow down and appreciate a photograph while discussing its historical context and artistic significance. Highlights include:

• The importance of photobooks in modern Japan seen through Kawada Kikuji's seminal work Chizu (The Map).
• Iwane Ai's A New River series, reflecting the rich folklore and traditions of the Tōhoku region.

⏳ Each talk lasts around 30 minutes and provides a chance for questions. Afterward, visitors are encouraged to explore the exhibition at their leisure.
