Lasercutter: basic use and safety

Unleash your creativity with our laser cutters! These fantastic machines can precisely cut through thin materials like wood, plastic, fabric, leather, and more, allowing you to bring your design ideas to life. However, safety comes first, which is why completing this mandatory laser course is essential before using the machinery.

In this course, you will:

• Explore the entire process from concept to creation by working on a simple yet effective design project.
• Learn to create cutting files using programs such as Illustrator, Inkscape, Fusion 360, or Rhino. Both Inkscape and Fusion 360 can be downloaded for free (Inkscape, Fusion 360). When using Fusion, be sure to select 'Start-Up or Educational licensing.' Feel free to use Bitraf's computers, although bringing your own laptop is also welcome.

We'll be using Lightburn software during the course. You can explore resources and download the software on their website: Lightburn Software.
