Linocut 102: 2-Color Printing

You’ve picked up your carving tools, you’ve made a couple of prints, you’ve maybe bought a new ink color to play with…what’s next? Join us for Linocut 102 where we will explore 2-Color Printing!

this class will include two 2.5 hour sessions and a 30 minute break for folks to snack, hydrate, and rest

Taking the basics you’ve learned from Linocut 101, we will dive deeper into carving techniques, design strategies for 2 color printing, and registration techniques so that your 2 color prints come out uniformly!

Like so many forms of art, this is a practice in repetition and patience. When you are good to your tools, when you are good to your vision, they will be good to you, too. After this session, not only will you walk away with your own 2-Color linocut prints, you will walk away with the confidence to create even more!
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to:

✂️ Consider multiple layers when designing

📋 Create registration templates for your 2 color prints

🖨️ Ink up and pull prints!

Perfect for those who have been through the basics, played around on their own, and want more! You'll leave with your own carved blocks and a few prints of your unique 2 color design to take home!

✅ A block-printed bookmark by the teaching artist

✅ Continued training with lino cutting tools

✅ Assistance with refining your design

✅ 2 lino cutting blocks to carve your 2 piece design

✅ Archival inks & printing paper for your prints

✅ Your own finished prints to take home! Come with a few image ideas—we’ll help you bring them to life!

HOW TO FIND US
Our studio is located in the Noodle Factory building at 21-07 41st Avenue. When you get to the building, please scan the Alpha Touch QR code on the door and find The Collaboratory in the directory to be buzzed in.

Once inside, you can take the elevator to Floor 2 and find us in Studio #213.

MASK REMINDER
The Collaboratory is a Masks Required space. 😷 We also run two air filters/purifiers during our gatherings. If you don't arrive with a mask, don't worry—we'll have them available at the door.

REFUND POLICY
At this time the QNSC is unable to issue refunds except on a case by case basis.
