Lunchtime Concert | Passions – Jenny Lu (piano) and James Littlewood (bass trombone)

🎶 Join us for an enchanting Lunchtime Concert featuring pianist Jenny Lu and bass trombonist James Littlewood as they present a sacred program of love, devotion, and spiritual longing. The repertoire includes:

• J.S. Bach’s ‘Mache dich, mein Herze, rein’ from the St Matthew Passion
• Jean-Michel Defaye’s Deux danses
• William Grant Still’s Romance
• Robert Denham’s Withering Grass, inspired by Isaiah 40:6–8, reflecting on life’s fleeting nature with the phrase 'all flesh is grass'.

This concert weaves hope through passion and stillness, a perfect pause in the hustle of the week.

A series launched in April 2013, created to encourage city workers and others to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Cathedral during the day. These weekly concerts provide fine music and space for contemplation amidst a busy week.
