Come celebrate the release of SO TONIGHT THAT I MIGHT SEE, a new entry in the 33 1/3 series authored by Anthony Gomez III, alongside co-presenter Sofía Aguilar. This book dives deep into the history of Mazzy Star's rise to fame, exploring the band's emergence against a backdrop of gentrification, escalating violence, and a vibrant renaissance of Chicanx art in Los Angeles.

The evening pairs a book launch with a live tribute showcase, featuring an eclectic lineup of performers honoring the enduring influence of Mazzy Star's music. 🌙✨

Anthony Gomez III is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Oklahoma, with scholarly interests spanning 19th and 20th century American literature and popular culture. Sofía Aguilar (she/they) is a Chicana writer, editor, teaching artist, community organizer, and library worker based in Los Angeles. Her writing has been featured in the L.A.
