Join us for a delightful journey along the Hogsmill River, one of England's rare chalk streams! This free outdoor event invites you to explore the fascinating trees and create a personalized zine to remember your experience.
About the Event:
The Hogsmill River, a vital wildlife-rich habitat in South London, is open for exploration. With support from the National Heritage Lottery Fund, we aim to connect underrepresented communities with urban chalk streams, highlighting the beauty of the Hogsmill this month.
What You'll Do:
- Discover Nature: Walk along the Hogsmill, learning to decode the landscape and uncovering what the trees reveal about the river and its ecology.
- Tree Identification: Learn to identify various trees by their key features and foraging possibilities.
- Artistic Expression: Take time to slow down and sketch what you discover, creating your own personalized field guide zine with provided templates. 🎨
- Keep Your Zine: Go home with a unique record of your adventure, capturing this river's essence from your perspective.
No experience is needed! Just bring your curiosity! :)
Important Information
- 🗓 When: Saturday, July 25th, 11:15am - 2:15pm
- 📍 Where: Ewell West Station Car Park, KT17 1TU
- 👉 Booking is essential! Reservations close at 8:00am on July 25th.
What to Bring:
- A filled water bottle
- Weather-appropriate, cozy clothing
- Comfortable shoes & clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty or inky
- A packed lunch (snack bars will be provided)

- Activities may involve off-path exploration and working on the ground. Areas could be muddy or uneven depending on the weather. If you have questions about access or physical needs, please reach out.
