It's Old Timers Day 🎉— a chance to celebrate the legends who have shaped the game, left a legacy, and impacted our community profoundly. We encourage all fans to sport their retro or vintage jerseys—whether club, school, or representative—and proudly #WearYourHistory!
We’ll honor the remarkable service of Major William James Hardham VC, a member of the original Wellington team that won the Ranfurly Shield in 1904 and a Victoria Cross recipient. His courage and sacrifice are an enduring part of our rugby heritage 🌳.
We'll also remember the connection between Wellington and Hawke's Bay and the Battle of Chunuk Bair—a significant action at Gallipoli where soldiers and former players from both provinces played pivotal roles in one of the campaign's defining battles.
