Participativní art mediace 2: Obraz člověka

Info sull'evento

What can be read from a face? And what, conversely, remains hidden? How is the way we portray ourselves and others changing?

The second session in a series of participatory art mediations will take participants to the exhibition 1796–1918: The Art of the Long Century, specifically to the section dedicated to the theme of the human figure. We will focus on portraits and self-portraits as one of the key ways in which artists captured the likeness, identity, and social status of people.
We will encounter various images of people—both formal and more casual, capturing everyday life and social roles. Participants will observe what individual portraits suggest, what stories they reveal, and what remains hidden between the lines. Together, they will also observe shifts in perspectives on the human figure and individuality, whether in the context of social changes, such as issues of identity and the status of women in society.

The session will conclude with a group art mediation, during which participants will share their personal interpretations of a selected work with the others. The program is based on sharing, dialogue, and voluntary participation—everyone can choose their own level of involvement.

Practical Information:

  • Additional sessions in the series will take place on June 14, September 13, October 18, and November 22, each in different exhibitions at the Trade Fair Palace.
  • A separate reservation is required for each session.
  • The program will be led by Alena Kotyza, an educator at the National Gallery in Prague, and Nikola Ludlová, the coordinator for inclusion and sustainability at the Jindřich Chalupecký Society.
