Pysanky with Natural Dyes for U of T students

Pysanky with Natural Dyes for U of T students

Info sull'evento

Exclusive to U of T students 🎓✨ Join us for a hands-on experience in creating traditional Ukrainian pysanky! 🥚 Pysanky are beautifully decorated eggs made using the wax-resist technique, where intricate designs are carefully drawn on the egg with beeswax before it's submerged in various natural dye baths. 🌼🥚

These stunning eggs are not only artistic expressions but also bear deep cultural significance as symbols of protection and goodwill. In our fast-paced world, they've often become mere decorations, losing their deeper, ritualistic essence. This workshop aims to re-connect participants with the age-old methods of using natural materials for dyeing. 🌱
