Join us for a memorable evening as visionary saxophonist Ravi Coltrane pays homage to his father's incredible legacy. 🎵 The night will commence with Ewen Farncombe and friends delivering an enchanting set inspired by Miles Davis.

Ravi Coltrane is a Grammy Award-nominated saxophonist, bandleader, and composer, known for his over 20 years in the jazz scene. He has collaborated with numerous artists, recorded significant albums, and established his own influential record label, RKM. Growing up in Los Angeles after his father's passing in 1967, Ravi was profoundly influenced by his mother, Alice Coltrane, who returned to music during his encouragement.

The opening performance features:

  • Ewen Farncombe on piano (Juno Award-nominated)
  • Jesse Ryan on sax
  • Norbert Botos on drums
  • Jon Meyer on bass
    Together, they will reinterpret classics from Miles's Kind of Blue along with other iconic works.

After the concert, unwind with a drink and soak in more jazzy tunes at the Postlude Performance in the Leslie and Anna Dan Galleria.

This event is part of a series honoring the centenary of both Miles Davis and John Coltrane as The Royal Conservatory presents five powerhouse concerts celebrating today's jazz innovators, featuring talents like Branford Marsalis, Dianne Reeves, Orbert Davis, and Artemis during the 2026-27 concert season. 🎉
