Rhythms of the Diaspora — Community Class Series

Join us this June for Rhythms of the Diaspora, an enriching community drum and dance series delving into the vibrant traditions of West Africa and Cuba! 🎉 Experience the joy of live drumming, movement, storytelling, and participatory fun.

Made possible through the support of Albany County and Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.

🗓️ THURSDAYS IN JUNE:

• Senior Rhythm & Movement Class: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
• Community Drum & Dance Class: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM

No experience necessary! Whether you're a novice or an experienced dancer, this series warmly invites you to engage, learn, and enjoy.

Participants will explore:

• 🎵 Live drumming
• 🥁 Rhythm fundamentals
• 💃 West African dance
• 🕺 Afro-Cuban dance
• 📣 Call-and-response traditions
• 🎶 Community music-making

Free and open to the public! Limited drums are available courtesy of Troy Savings Bank Music Hall on a first-come, first-served basis.
