Router Table: Basic use and safety
Details
This course is exclusively for paying Bitraf members. If you are not a member yet, please sign up for membership at Bitraf Membership before enrolling in the course.
A router table is a versatile tool that enables various woodworking operations, including:
- Edge profiling
- Groove cutting
- Mortising
- Pattern routing
- Joinery
- Slot cutting
While it offers increased precision and control, it is also one of the more dangerous machines in the workshop. The bits rotate at very high speeds and can grab the workpiece, pulling your hand into the moving bit if not operated correctly. Therefore, it is crucial to treat it with the respect and care it requires for safe operation.
Completing a Router Table course at Bitraf is mandatory before using the machine.
