Hosted by Scorpiana Xlent, this event is not just a showcase, but a fierce competition in the art of spoken word poetry.

📍 Location: 1173 Lincoln Ave, Willow Glen, San José
🕡 Sign-Ups: 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM (Random draw at 7:00 PM)
🔖 Admission: Sliding scale fee of $5-10 (no one turned away for lack of funds)

🚗 Parking: Free in Willow Glen, with lots located behind the businesses.

Competition Details:

• Poets must use their own poems (one poem per round)
• No musical accompaniment or props allowed
• Time limit of 3 minutes and 10 seconds
• Violation of rules may result in disqualification
• Two rounds: poets with the highest scores advance to round two

Raggedy Andey is a celebrated poet from Santa Cruz, known for her love of abandoned houses. She was the grand slam champion in 2015 and has achieved remarkable accolades in the world of poetry. Currently, she organizes an exclusive poetry series and enjoys time with her dog, Frank. Her favorite word? Avid! 🌟
