About Seppuku Pistols
Formed by four ex-punks in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake and the subsequent nuclear crisis in 2011, Seppuku Pistols has been a voice of rebellion ever since. Their very first performance took place in the no-entry-zone around the nuclear power plant, marking the beginning of a journey that blends traditional Edo styles with modern activism. The group has now expanded to about 30 members across Japan, captivating audiences indoors and outdoors alike with their high-energy shows featuring traditional Japanese instruments like the sho gong, shamisen, shinobue flute, and taiko drums.
From revitalization events and art festivals to protests and performances at shrines, they create exhilarating experiences that bring together children, punks, and the elderly in a joyous celebration of music.
