This unique and theatrical production tells the haunting and poetic story of the life of legendary American writer Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849). A world rich with creativity emerges from Poe’s struggles with tragedy and addiction, culminating in a mesmerizing exploration between fact and fiction. It beautifully captures Poe’s words: “all that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.” 🌌

We are looking for six dynamic actor-singers who possess strong movement skills and a playful, imaginative storytelling approach. This ensemble-driven production requires every performer to portray multiple roles. Experience with verse is a plus but not mandatory.

Prepare:

• A musical theatre song, no more than 1 minute long, that best showcases your storytelling ability (accompaniment will be provided).

This is a NON-EQUITY opportunity offering a $100 stipend. All performers of different ages, abilities, and ethnicities are strongly encouraged to audition! 🕊️

• Player 1 (Baritenor): Roderick Usher, Rufus Griswold, Imp, Horse, etc.
• Player 2 (Baritone): William Wilson, David Poe, Jock Allan, etc.
• Player 3 (Tenor): Arthur Gordon Pym, William Henry Leonard Poe, etc.
• Player 4 (Soprano): Marie Rogat, Rosalie Poe, Fanny Allan, Sissy Clem
• Player 5 (Soprano): Annabel Lee, Eliza Poe, Muddy Clem, etc.
• Player 6 (Alto): Lenore, Elmira Royster, etc.
• Edgar Allan Poe (Tenor)

Rehearsals are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings, plus one weekend day based on cast input from October 12 - 15 for tech week.
