Social Film Club – 32nd Edition

A Branch of the Social Book Club focusing on International Cinema. I find films based on the taste profile of the cinephiles that regularly attend.

A Reminder that the films for this week are a bit longer than usual so maybe bring some snacks and drinks.

1. Tosca's Kiss (1984)
   Daniel Schmid's tender portrait of Casa Verdi, the Milan retirement home for opera singers founded by Verdi himself.
   Memory, performance, aging, and passion — the residents still sing, argue, and live for opera.
   Warm, funny, and quietly moving.

OR

1. Celebrating Bird: The Triumph of Charlie Parker (1987)
   Gary Giddins' documentary on the life and genius of the bebop saxophonist who changed jazz forever.
   Music, addiction, brilliance, and legacy — told through rare footage and interviews.
   Sharp, loving, and essential.
   IMDb: 7.5/10 – Runtime: 50m.

The event takes place at the Social Welfare organization called MUT. It is an organisation that works on social issues such as Emergency & Homeless Assistance, Food Rescue and Environment Protection. MUT is a non profit organization that provides us with the space to host the event. A small donation towards their cause helps them a lot.
