Volunteering Untapped NYC: Billion Oyster Project (August Event)
Join Volunteering Untapped NYC as we unite for a purpose! This month, we'll partner with the Billion Oyster Project to help restore oyster reefs in New York Harbor. 🌆🌿
What's Happening?
We’ll ferry to Governors Island at 9:30 AM from the Battery Maritime Building (10 South St, Slip 7) in Lower Manhattan. The ferry is free on weekend mornings! Once we arrive, we’ll get our hands dirty helping with tasks like shoveling shells and mixing cement. Please wear clothes and shoes that can handle a bit of mess!
Lunch Break 🍴
Take a break for lunch on the island! Options include food trucks or you can bring your own meal. We will wrap up around 2:30 PM and then head over to Taco Vista for some drinks and good times! 🎉
Important Info:
Don’t forget, you’ll need to sign a waiver and register with the Billion Oyster Project via a link that will be shared after registration. We highly encourage everyone to join our optional social afterwards for more fun! 🍻
