Kita is an AI-native underwriting platform built for the Philippines, founded at Stanford, and the first homegrown AI company accepted into Y Combinator (the first checks behind Airbnb, Stripe, Coinbase, DoorDash, and Dropbox).

The founders, Carmel Limcaoco (co-founder and CEO) and Rhea (co-founder and CTO), met at Stanford, where they earned undergraduate and master's degrees in Computer Science and AI. Carmel is the first Filipina accepted into Y Combinator in five years. They are back in Manila to celebrate their recent fundraise and share insights on AI in lending on the ground.
