Dive into the rich world of modern poetry with readings from celebrated twentieth-century writers! ✍️✨ Each session invites you to listen to or read brief poems, share your thoughts, and explore the themes that arise in an open, welcoming environment. No prior preparation is needed—texts will be provided at the event!

This month, we spotlight U.S. poets Frank O'Hara and James Schuyler. Whether you're a poetry enthusiast or simply curious, feel free to join for one session or all; each 90-minute meetup is self-contained. While prior experience with poetry can enhance the conversation, it’s not mandatory. A willingness to engage with innovative techniques and diverse perspectives is all you need!

We'll focus on poets who have responded to social upheaval and contributed to modern literature through their works, featuring a global view and translations of international writers. Expect brief introductions to the poets without the burden of formal lectures; together we’ll uncover insights through discussion and shared observations.

This event is hosted by Gary Roberts, a poet and co-founder of the Arts Collaborative Medford, as part of our literary arts initiative.
