10 Week Portrait Drawing Course Gold Coast

Join Jason Clarke for an engaging 10-Week Portrait Drawing Course starting July 20th, 2026! This course offers a unique opportunity to dive deep into the art of portraiture.

What to Expect:

• Focused Learning: Each week, we'll concentrate on a specific facial element, ensuring you grasp the techniques needed for realistic portraits.
• Hands-On Instruction: Jason will use whiteboard demonstrations, one-on-one guidance, and group observation to enhance your learning experience.
• Tailored Teaching: Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, Jason adapts his teaching to suit your needs, making sure everyone benefits.
• Experiment with Colour: Towards the end of the course, you'll have the chance to create a final portrait using your choice of reference. Bring family photos or celebrity images to draw!

Course Outline:

• History, proportions, and orientation
• Tone, shapes, and planes
• Drawing eyes, noses, mouths (and teeth), ears, hair, and facial expressions
• "Putting it all together" and guidance on next steps
• Experimenting with colour

Classes:

• When: Mondays, 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM (attend once a week)

Materials Needed:

• An A3 sized art diary (minimum 110gsm)
• A range of pencils (HB, 2B, 4B, 6B)
• Putty eraser (kneadable eraser), hard white eraser, and sharpener
• 🌈 All colour materials will be provided!

The full course fee is $647, with options for partial payment.
