AmpSurf/VetSurf - Rockaway Warriors Weekend @ Breezy Point

Join us for an inspiring Adaptive Surf Therapy session designed exclusively for wounded warriors as part of the Rockaway Warriors Weekend! This 2-day Learn to Surf Clinic invites veterans in partnership with Hope for the Warriors. Interested participants are encouraged to register with Hope for the Warriors to be part of this transformative experience.

Volunteers are essential for the success of this event! We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to assist throughout the weekend. Your role may involve instruction in the water, beach support, booth help, and more.

At AmpSurf, our mission is to Promote, Inspire, Educate, and Rehabilitate (PIER™) individuals with disabilities and their families. We focus on abilities, not disabilities, through adaptive surfing and outdoor activities.

Thank you for your interest in sharing the healing power of the ocean! Your volunteer experience will be fulfilling, and we greatly appreciate your help. Please ensure you can commit to your designated times. Here’s a sneak peek of our volunteer schedule for the clinic:

• 7:00-7:30am: Set-up volunteers arrive
• 7:30-8:30am: All other volunteers arrive
• 8:30am: Participants arrive and are fitted for wetsuits (if necessary)
• 8:45am: Welcome brief, dryland training, safety briefing, and group photo
• 9:00-11:00am: In-Water surf instruction
• 11:30am: Closing remarks, participant departure, and event tear down

Note: AmpSurf does not provide wetsuits for volunteers. Please familiarize yourself with our Beach Policy Manual for guidelines.
