Arsenic and Lies - live roleplaying for beginners

Approximate Timeframes:
17.30 - 18.30: Character Creation and Game explanation
18.30 - 19.30: Round 1
19.30 (approximately): Someone dies and we gather to watch the spectacle
19.45 - 20.30: Figure out what happened, and achieve your goals
20.30 - 21.00: Accusations and resolution
21.00 - 21.30: Photos, clean up and farewells!

How to play Arsenic and Lies:

Step 1: The year is 1919, and you are attending the Weatherby's New Years Party. You might be part of the family. You might be a distinguished guest or you might be part of the service staff. Create your character, including as much nonsense as you can possibly think of.

Step 2: Have a few glasses of wine. Tell all of the other characters why you hate them.

Step 3: Oops someone died. Loudly accuse everyone of murder, or just find a way to blame the character you hate the most.

Step 4: Grab the popcorn and watch the chaos unfold.

This is not a serious game, and it's not really about catching a killer. It's a cocktail party where you get to be somebody exciting for the night and do whatever you can dream up.

There are very few rules

No experience is required. Just bring a bottle of wine (or whatever you prefer), your best 1920s energy, and a willingness to embrace intrigue, gossip, and betrayal.
