This exhibit documents photographer Griffin Ong's return to his grandparents’ ancestral villages in China's Pearl River Delta. It is a journey to rediscover family history, reconnect with long-lost relatives, and better understand the roots of Chinese Americans. The exhibit features images of family homes, village life, and a historic visit with the descendants of Wong Kim Ark, the individual behind the birthright citizenship case in the U.S. These photographs aim to inspire others to explore their own roots and share the stories that shape their identities.

Griffin Ong is a Brooklyn-based street photographer, originally from San Francisco. He focuses on capturing the interaction between people and the built environment, with a passion for food, history, and the evolution of cultures, particularly within Asian diasporic communities.
