Athens Area Stand Down for Homeless and Near Homeless

Join us for the 11th Athens Area Stand Down on October 2, 2026 at the Athens County Fairgrounds! This community-driven event aims to support the homeless and those at risk of homelessness as winter approaches.

What to Expect:

• 🎽 Essential Goods: Boots, winter jackets, toiletries, hats, gloves, blankets, canned food, socks, and more donations tailored to this year's needs.
• 🩺 Mobile Medical Vans: Providing general exams and offering flu, COVID, and tetanus shots.
• 💇‍♂️ Free Haircuts: Look sharp this winter!
• 🏛️ Agency Assistance: Information on heating assistance and other services.

Schedule:

• 10 AM - Noon: Veterans Only.
• Noon - 2 PM: Open to Veterans and the community.

Transportation:

Buses will run free on this day! If you’re not near a bus stop, call 740-597-2404 during the week leading up to the event to arrange a free ride with Athens on Demand.

Last year, we successfully served over 100 veterans. Let's make this year even better!
