You are warmly welcomed to a live concert at Hudiksvallsgatan 6, 113 30 Stockholm on Thursday, May 21 at 7 pm, where three exceptional musicians come together in a rich sonic encounter — speaking the universal language of music.
Eva Lindal (violin), Mikael Augustsson (bandoneon), and Jon Fält (drums/percussion) unite to craft an immersive sound world that weaves through improvisation, contemporary music, tango, jazz, and experimental territories.
The performance unfolds in direct dialogue with the exhibition "Errare humanum est. Painting at the Time of Artificial Intelligence", curated by Mika Takehara and featuring works by five Estonian artists. This interplay between sound and visual art opens a shared space of reflection, intuition, and exploration at the crossroads of humanity, technology, and creativity.
Based in Stockholm, Eva Lindal trained at the Royal College of Music before continuing her studies in Switzerland, Banff (Canada), and New York, where she deepened her practice in improvisation. Her artistic focus spans improvisation, contemporary art music, and Baroque music, and she has initiated and led experimental collaborations with musicians and artists across Sweden, Europe, and the United States.
In spring 2024, she and New York-based pianist Virg Dzurinko released their second album on their own label Hotel at the End of the World, presenting music by Armenian composer Sofia Ganeshian. Upcoming 2026 projects include a Japan tour with Distant Harmonies, the release of Lament over Nightingales and Small Creatures — a duo album with harpist Stina Hellberg Agback — and concerts with The Biber Project, performing the Mystery Sonatas by 17th-century composer Biber alongside Lukas Arvidsson on historical organs and harpsichord.
Mikael Augustsson is a restless explorer of new musical landscapes. His bandoneon and accordion become instruments of tension and discovery, constantly revealing new tonal dimensions. His musical foundation is rooted in Argentine tango — a tradition he absorbed during an extended stay in Buenos Aires — yet the music he produces is entirely his own, shaped by wide-ranging influences gathered through travel and varied musical partnerships.
His work draws on composers such as Stravinsky, Bartók, Debussy, and Morricone, blending their impulses with the intense, sensual character of the bandoneon and the raw heat of tango. As Astor Piazzolla once remarked of the instrument: "Diabolical — you have to be a little crazy to take it on." Augustsson has mastered it completely. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and at the Conservatorio Nacional Superior de Música Carlos Buches in Buenos Aires.
Regarded as one of Sweden's most distinctive drummers, Jon Fält has fundamentally reimagined what the drum kit can be within modern jazz. Raised in Sandviken and based in Gävle, he is an indispensable presence on both the Swedish and international scenes.
His playing balances explosive force with fragile minimalism, treating the drums not merely as a rhythmic tool but as a source of infinite tonal color. As a core member of the globally celebrated Bobo Stenson Trio, he has performed worldwide and contributed to multiple acclaimed albums on ECM Records. He also leads his own project "Lekverk" and has received prestigious recognition including the Jazzkannan award and Swedish Radio's Jazzkatten award for Musician of the Year.
