Curated Encounters: River Valley - Session 1

Om arrangementet

🌟 Discover the Intersection of Art and Community! 🌟
Join us for an engaging exploration of how art galleries coexist with vibrant neighborhoods.

🖼️ Starting at JW Projects:
Experience the vivid yet poignant works of Weijue Wang. Using wool fiber, she delves into themes of possession and the complexities of women's rights through various mediums. While her pieces may appear sweet and soft, they carry traces of violence alongside their public personas.

🚶‍♂️ A short walk away at STPI:
Immerse yourself in the surreal universe of Eko Nugroho, an Indonesian artist. His work, influenced by street art, graffiti, and comics, features masked figures and hybrid creatures that transform everyday observations into playful critiques of identity. Grounded in his residency at STPI, STRANGE MONSTER VIEW offers a wry perspective on Singapore, touching on tourism, architecture, culture, and our increasingly screen-driven lives.

This programme involves light walking, with short outdoor stretches between gallery venues.
