Disability Zine Making Workshop (hybrid)
Celebrate Disability Pride Month by creating your very own zine! 🎉
Join us for a relaxed evening of zine-making with fellow Disabled friends. We'll explore examples of zines focusing on disability, and then you'll have the chance to write or draw your own! Topics can range from informative pieces about your disability to the significance of disability pride or personal reflections on your favorite Disability Justice principles. No prior experience is required!
If you prefer, bring along a computer or iPad to work digitally. This event is hybrid, so feel free to join us online via Zoom!
To attend virtually, stay tuned for the Zoom link! 💻
Note: This gathering is open to everyone who identifies as disabled, including those with chronic illnesses, neurodiversity, mental health disabilities, and intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Safety First: Masks are required for all attendees. For more accessibility information, click here. For any access requests, please reach out as soon as possible by emailing us at info@thenonbinarian.gay.
Meet Your Facilitator
Your workshop will be led by Mick (they/them), a fat, white, queer, nonbinary zinester and radical full-spectrum doula. Mick specializes in zines about self-advocacy, gender, and disability. They're currently writing a graphic memoir on disability and implicit bias, which you can follow on Patreon. 🌟
Entrance Fee: Pay What You Can - supports event facilitators and The Nonbinarian Bookstore, a volunteer-run space dedicated to trans+, disabled, and Asian communities. 📚
