One of the most remarkable instrumental talents in rock over the past 40 years, guitarist Eric Johnson has left a legacy that began before his very first album. By the early 1980s, he earned admiration from top guitarists, often likened to legends like Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix. His debut album, Tones (1986), was a breakthrough, even earning a Grammy nomination for “Zap.”

With the release of Ah Via Musicom (1990), which went platinum, and the Grammy-winning “Cliffs of Dover,” Johnson became a renowned figure in the guitar world. Known for his emotive and vibrant playing style, as highlighted by Rolling Stone, he is not only an extraordinary guitarist but also a talented singer, pianist, and songwriter.

Over his career, he has dropped seventeen albums and collaborated with icons such as Mike Stern, Joe Satriani, and Steve Vai, earning a total of eight Grammy nominations along the way. His recent projects, including the Treasure Tour and the G3 Reunion Tour, along with his Texaphonic initiative, showcase his ongoing creativity and passion for music.

His music transcends genres, blending rock, blues, jazz, fusion, classical, and more, encapsulating his philosophy: “It really boils down to the music and the song at the end of the day… the most important thing is to grow musically and make a more meaningful artistic statement with every project.”
