FIMARA presents:
Benjamin Vergara & Eden Carrasco 🎷🎺
This duo is a collaboration between Chilean musicians Benjamín Vergara and Edén Carrasco, with over 20 years of experience. Their work spans experimental music, noise, minimalism, free jazz, and site-specific performance. They explore the limits of timbres using trumpet and saxophone, creating melodic lines camouflaged by textures, dron blues, and a unique take on cool jazz.

Edén Carrasco
A Chilean musician known for his free improvised music, Edén has played in various bands including Ensamble Majamama, La Kut, and many more. He has collaborated with numerous musicians and performed across multiple countries such as Argentina, Belgium, and Japan. He is also involved in the tradition of gaita colombiana and leads a project called Mákina Kandela.
Benjamín Vergara
Based in Valdivia, Chile, Benjamín is a trumpet player, improviser, and educator. He focuses on improvised music and free jazz, and directs the Festival of Experimental Music – Relincha. He has collaborated with a wide range of musicians and his work is available on various labels.

Nana Pi 🎶
Nana Pi is a saxophonist, composer, and conductor in the experimental jazz scene. She uses extended techniques and objects to create a unique sound on the saxophone. Known for her improvisation using music sign language, Extemporize, she received the P8 Jazz Award “Årets Ildsjæl” in 2020. Nana plays in several ensembles and has released critically acclaimed albums, with her quintet Nezelhorns nominated for “Jazz Release of the Year” at DMA Jazz 2021.
