✨ About the Exhibition:
North Country presents a collection of functional ceramic vessels that blend beauty with practicality. Each vessel embodies the language of the landscape and carries the weathered imprint of time.
🖌️ Each piece is meticulously hand-trimmed using homemade tools, displaying a hand-hewn aesthetic. Layered slips interact with the carved surfaces, while atmospheric firing creates finishes that evoke a sense of cherished history. The simplicity and functionality of these forms allow the tactile qualities of the clay to shine, enhancing the overall experience.
👩🎨 About Heather Lepp:
Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Heather earned her BFA from the University of Manitoba in 2016 and her MFA from West Virginia University in 2024. Her journey includes an apprenticeship with four professional potters from 2016 to 2020. Heather has been awarded the Marilyn Levitt Prize in Functional Ceramics by the Manitoba Arts Council and has exhibited her work extensively across Canada and the United States.
