🍃 Meet Our Herbalist-in-Residence: Talyce Ketura
Talyce Ketura (they/she) is a queer, gender-fluid, mixed afro-Caribbean village auntie, writer, herbalist, farmer, and traditional birth attendant with nearly a decade of experience. As the founder of Àtúnbí Wellness, they provide education, holistic consultations, and reproductive healthcare rooted in Black feminist practices. 🍃 About the Herbalist-in-Residence Program
This program features a community herbalist for three months at our Downtown Community Apothecary & Pharmacy. During their residency, they hold weekly open-hour consultations and bi-weekly hands-on workshops for the community. These engaging sessions aim to facilitate intentional knowledge exchange between herbalists and community members, where participants gain new skills and medicines to take home. Workshops typically include:

🤲🏾 About the Space
Freedom Community Clinic's Downtown Community Apothecary & Pharmacy is a donation-based resource where community members can learn, gather medicines, craft tinctures and tea blends, and co-work. We welcome everyone, from seasoned herbalists to newcomers. Our location is conveniently situated near Downtown Oakland.

🫂 Accessibility
Our facility is wheelchair accessible and located near MacArthur Bart Station for easy public transportation access. Please note that we are not a scent-free space, as incense will be present with windows open. We honor personal autonomy and provide face masks for those who need them, alongside air filters in the space. As a no-shoes facility, we offer slides in multiple sizes and shoe covers.
