Trained at the prestigious Berklee College of Music and the Manhattan School of Music, Jaleel is a finalist in the prestigious Thelonious Monk Competition and a talented member of the Mingus Big Band. He has shared the stage with jazz legends including Roy Haynes, Dave Holland, Pat Metheny, Christian McBride, and Chick Corea.

Through his label, Changu Records, Jaleel has released celebrated albums, from his debut Perspective in 2005 to the upcoming Painter of the Invisible in 2025. His work has received accolades from DownBeat, JazzTimes, and The New York Times, along with two ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Awards, solidifying his status as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary jazz. 🎵
