About Jerry Leger

Jerry Leger is a seasoned singer-songwriter hailing from the vibrant East End of Toronto. His music is a rich tapestry of folk, rock 'n' roll, and Americana, marked by poignant lyrics and soulful vocals. Introduced to music early by his grandfather, who shared the timeless classics of Hank Williams, Jerry swiftly developed a profound connection to songwriting and performance. Influenced by legends like The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, and Tom Waits, his artistry has evolved over two decades.

Since releasing his debut album at the age of 19, Jerry has maintained a steady output of music, collaborating with various side projects while being a pivotal figure in the industry. Notably, he spent over a decade signed to Latent Recordings, the label of Cowboy Junkies, where many of his albums were produced by Michael Timmins, except for the critically acclaimed Donlands, which was a collaboration with Grammy-winning producer Mark Howard. This album garnered significant praise from prestigious publications such as Uncut Magazine and Rolling Stone Germany.

Expanding beyond music in 2020, he ventured into poetry with his book Just The Night Birds. Recently, Jerry has partnered with DevilDuck Records in Hamburg for his 14th studio album, Waves of Desire. With numerous headlining shows across Canada, the United States, Europe, and the UK, Jerry has shared the stage with notable artists like Steve Earle, Dawes, The Sadies, and esteemed Canadian songwriter Ron Sexsmith, who recognizes him as “the real deal” in the Canadian music scene.
