Join us for Parks Canada’s fabulous annual Lock & Paddle event, where the vibrant colors of canoes and kayaks bring life to the historic canals and waterways of Peterborough! 🌈 Gather your friends and family, decorate your vessels, and participate in a memorable adventure that will be cherished for years to come.
This year, the festivities expand at Beavermead Park, where the City of Peterborough will host exciting water-themed activities throughout the afternoon! 🐟 It's not just a perfect launch spot for the main event but also a fantastic place to return for more Lock & Paddle fun.
🎟️ Canada Strong Pass holders can enjoy free lockage from June 19 to September 7 — a wonderful opportunity to explore this stunning waterway!
📝 Event Guidelines:
- Open to all ages and skill levels
- No stand-up paddleboards allowed
- No inflatable vessels (like kayaks)
- PFDs are mandatory for all paddlers/passengers
- Smoke-free, cannabis-free, and alcohol-free environment
- No pets on boats
- Avoid throwing beach balls or any objects inside the locks
- Participants must remain seated at all times
- Show respect for your fellow paddlers!
