In the London Sangha we get together to inspire and deepen our spiritual practice by connecting and sharing stories. Maintaining regular practice is often easy enough when we've just come back from retreat or had a peak experience, but it gets harder as the memory fades and life gets busy. If we were followers of any of the many buddhist or other traditions out there we would have a clearer idea of where we are trying to get to and people, rituals and social pressure to keep us on track, but many of us are not and so we have to figure it out for ourselves.
The idea behind this meetup is that hearing other people's stories and seeing what it means to them will inspire us directly and also indirectly by making us remember our own experiences.
The format is a combination of shares and some structured conversation, with most of the time dedicated to shares. We share spiritual moments of significance to us and we discuss what arises. It's remarkable how open sharing from the heart combines with kind and emapthetic listening to create an atmosphere of love and deep connection.
We also share things that have worked for us which might work for others, ranging from retreats, through books and podcasts to practical tips.
