Set in Japan during the early 20th century, Madama Butterfly tells the heart-wrenching story of a tragic love affair between an American naval officer and his young Japanese bride, whose self-sacrifice leads to unimaginable sorrow. 💔
While steeped in tragedy, this opera remains Puccini’s favorite, showcasing some of the most beautiful arias ever composed, including One Fine Day and the Love Duet, alongside the beloved Humming Chorus. 🎶
