Maker Basics: Developing B&W Film in a Dark Room 🎞️

Join us for a beginner-friendly workshop at FabLab Neukölln where you'll learn the essentials of developing black and white film! At the beginning of the session, you can choose to process either paper or film.

Bring your own black & white film for development, or we can provide negatives for you! You'll master the use of Rodinal, D-76, and standard B&W fixer to develop your negatives.

Films We CAN Develop:

  • Kodak: Tri-X 400, T-Max 100/400
  • Ilford: HP5+, FP4+, Delta series, Kentmere
  • Foma: Fomapan 100/200/400

Films We CANNOT Develop:

  • C-41 Black-and-White Films:
    • Ilford XP2 Super
    • Kodak BW400CN
    • Fuji Neopan 400CN
  • No color films (C-41 or E-6).

If you’re unsure about the film you have, feel free to contact us with any questions!

⚠️ This workshop focuses on basic processes and techniques. Get hands-on experience with the machines so you can return to the dark room independently.

⚠️ All participants must sign a liability waiver before attending due to potentially dangerous machinery.
