Ever wondered what Stockholm looked like centuries ago? This compact, free English-language walking tour offers a fascinating glimpse into the city's medieval past — no reservation required!
Over the course of roughly 500 meters, your guide will bring the medieval city to life through stories embedded in the very streets you walk. Discover how daily life unfolded in Stockholm's oldest quarters, spot traces of history hidden in cobblestones and building facades, and hear the dramatic tale of the Stockholm Bloodbath as you stand at Stortorget — the square where it all happened.
The route also takes you through the inner courtyard of the parish church and along a narrow street that Stockholmers have been hurrying down since the 13th century.
After the walking tour, you're welcome to join a guided visit inside Storkyrkan — Stockholm's iconic cathedral. Note that a separate entrance fee applies for this extension.
