Notes Against The Family Archive is crafted as an essayistic reflection on themes of family, photography, and the concept of home. Beginning after the author's grandfather's death, it reveals a buried history of trauma and explores the family archive as a place of silence, unexpressed pain, and emotional remnants.

Francisco Nuno Rodrigues (b. 2001, Funchal, PT), based in Lisbon, Portugal, has showcased his work at various galleries and festivals across the country. His debut short film, O Leite das Monarcas, received the Young Talents Prize from the Cecília Zino Foundation in 2025. Currently, he focuses on the interplay of autofictional relationships within family narratives.

Gisela Casimiro (Bissau, 1984) is an esteemed artist, writer, translator, and activist. Her literary works include Erosão, Giz, and Estendais, and her translations have brought important works like Irmã Marginal by Audre Lorde to Portuguese audiences. Known for her impactful exhibitions, Gisela is also a co-founder of UNA – União Negra das Artes and has coordinated the Batalha Cinema Book Club.
