OPEN CALL: ARTIST IN RESIDENCE 2027

Cirkus Kolektiv is excited to announce an open call for authors, artists, and contemporary circus collectives developing innovative artistic projects and performances for the year 2027!

Artist in Residence is a unique residency program designed to support artists in need of space, time, and resources to nurture their creative ideas. During the residency in Split, Croatia, participants will have the opportunity to conduct research, experiment, develop existing projects, or kickstart new artistic processes.

✨ WHAT THE RESIDENCY OFFERS

• Workspace and technical support
• Organization of a work-in-progress presentation
• Audience discussion following the presentation
• Media visibility and promotion of your project
• Documentation of the creative process and performance material
• Financial support of up to €1000 to cover travel, accommodation, and production costs

👥 WHO CAN APPLY?
This call is open to artists and collectives from Europe focused on contemporary circus, developing new performances, artistic projects, works in progress, research-based processes, and interdisciplinary collaborations. We encourage projects at various stages of development, especially those that include workshops, masterclasses, or other knowledge-sharing activities for both amateur and professional contemporary circus practitioners.

DURATION: Up to 14 days
PERIOD: January – October 2027

📌 SELECTION CRITERIA
Priority will be given to projects that demonstrate:

• Innovation and originality in artistic approach
• Critical thinking and reflection
• Artistic and social engagement
• Interdisciplinary collaboration
• Potential for further development and presentation
