🌊Overnight Adventure on Härön – Camp, Explore & Hunt for bioluminescence

Join us for a relaxed overnight adventure on the beautiful island of Härön, outside Tjörn!
We'll hike about 2 km from the ferry to the island's outdoor wind shelter, which is also the only area where camping is allowed. We'll set up our tents there before heading out to explore the island's beautiful coastline, forests, and nature.
One of our goals is to look for Mareld (bioluminescent plankton). If we find a good spot during the day where the water looks promising, we'll return after dark to see if the sea lights up. Please bring a headlamp or flashlight—it will help us safely find our way along the trails after sunset.
In the evening we'll make a campfire (if conditions allow) and grill some food together at the shelter. Feel free to bring whatever you'd like to cook.
Since we'll be spending time by the sea, bring your swimming clothes if you'd like to take a dip.

Important to Know

• The hike from the ferry to the campsite is about 2 km but we will explore the hole island.
  There is a public toilet near the camping area. According to mapy there is also a drinking water tap there. However, this isn't confirmed so it's still a good idea to bring enough water for the hike and your first evening.

About Mareld

Last weekend there was plenty of Mareld around Kyrkesund, so hopefully we'll be lucky and see it on Härön too! Nature doesn't make any guarantees, but we'll keep our fingers crossed.
