RECON + Keep Orlando Beautiful- Lake Fran Cleanup

Join Central Florida Recon for a community cleanup at Lake Fran in partnership with Keep Orlando Beautiful! This environmental initiative is part of a larger event organized by KOB, and we'll be active on the east shore of Lake Fran.

🚣‍♂️ We have six kayaks available on a first-come, first-served basis! If you have your own kayak or canoe, please bring it, as we often have more volunteers than kayaks available. For those onshore, we'll provide trash grabbers and buckets for collecting litter.

⚠️ Please note: No stand-up paddleboards (SUP) for this event. Remember, a local resident has reported a large gator named “Big Mac” in the lake, so stay alert!

🕑 The cleanup will last two hours, with a group photo at the start and a trash weigh-in afterward to see how much we've collected.

💧 What to bring:

• A hat 👒
• Sunglasses 🕶
• Sunscreen
• Plenty of water to stay hydrated

Wayfinding:
Enter 4780 Raleigh St in your GPS to find the access road directly across from the Sunoco station. Drive south down the dirt road until you reach the Central Florida Recon setup.

Important: This area of the park does not have a water fountain or restroom facilities.
