Exhibition Overview

From May 1st to May 17th, explore the powerful works showcased at Detroit Stockholm, revolving around two intertwined narratives.

• Rewind: Delve into the complexities following a physically transformative accident, employing time manipulation and a unique personal photo archive.
• Tresse de Méduse: Witness the chilling impacts of societal scrutiny, using the ancient craft of ‘hårarbete’ to create hair snakes as symbols for women reclaiming their place in public life.

About the Artist:
Rio Drop resides and works in Örebro, Sweden. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Art The Hague, her multidisciplinary practice encompasses assemblage, sculpture, installation, and video. Rio's work prominently features human hair, addressing themes of women's visibility, loss, and resilience.
